Turftastic!

26 March 2007

With the Easter bank holiday weekend approaching, Turf Extra has been launched by home enhancement retailer Homebase making it the first national retailer to deliver turf direct to customer’s homes.

Turf Extra is a new proposition available in mainland UK stores. From today customers can order their turf in bulk and have it home delivered. With deliveries made on a Friday customers are assured that they have the freshest quality turf to create their lawn over the weekend.

Matt Graham, Homebase horticulture buyer, explained: "The Homebase turf is of a high quality and is supplied by a company whose other clients include leading sports venues and golf clubs. All Homebase turf is UK grown and is produced from dwarf rye grass and fescues for a hardwearing, general purpose family lawn."

Home delivered turf will be available all year in two delivery options; half pallet (40 rolls totalling 40sqm) or full pallet (80 rolls totalling 80sqm). Prices start at £118.99.

Turf Extra orders are taken in store or over the phone and will shortly be launched online.

Customers undertaking smaller projects can purchase individual rolls of turf in 91 mainland Homebase stores.
