Argos attends Isle of Wight festival
10 June 2010
Leading high street retailer Argos is again attending the Isle of Wight music festival, which opens this week, with its mobile store format.
The new style ‘festival store’ which Argos trialled at last year’s event, operates out of a specially adapted trailer kitted out with storage shelving similar to an Argos store. The store located on the forecourt of the Texaco petrol station in Fairlee Road, Newport, which is the access road to the entrance of the main camping area.
Last year, the trial store provided Argos with insight into the immediate needs of festival goers. The product range has been reviewed for this year and as the leading retailer of camping equipment Argos is the perfect place to purchase everything campers may need for a festival.
The store has basics like two and three-man tents, airbeds and last year’s favourite the Gazebo. If it rains, the store also has wellingtons and ponchos to keep out the wet. For the football fans who don’t want to miss out on the World Cup, wind-up radios and England hats, bunting and wigs and to complete the party atmosphere Vuvuzelas.
Aaron Holden, the Argos Folkestone store manager, who is managing the festival store said: ”Based on last year’s positive customer feedback we believe this year we can give an even better service to festival goers, and provide them with all the things they need to make their stay enjoyable. The team is made up of a variety of Hampshire store colleagues who have all volunteered their own time and are prepared to 'rough it' in the true spirit of festival goers, to make this year event even more exciting than the last.”
The store opens from lunchtime on Thursday 10 June to ensure the camping early arrivals are catered for.
