Argos announces record breaking range in new catalogue

27 July 2007

Argos’ long track record of offering customers the best possible choice intensifies this weekend as it launches its new autumn/winter catalogue on 28 July with a record breaking 18,000 products this time – more than any other catalogue in 34 years of Argos history.

The average price of re-included lines has fallen in this catalogue by approximately 5% to save customers more than £60m over the peak period.

Managing director, Sara Weller, said: “Not only is price and value at the very heart of our offer, it’s vital that we ensure our products are readily available. Nearly all of our 685 stores across the UK and ROI will stock in 10,500 of the new catalogue’s product lines, with around 250 of those stores also carrying the 3,700 Extra lines for immediate collection. The remaining 3,900 lines are the large bulky products that Argos delivers direct to home. This means that the majority of the time customers will be able to pop into a store and pick up the product they want immediately – an unrivalled customer offer.”

The catalogue has around 1,500 products more than the same catalogue last year, an increase of over 8%, and an additional 32 pages. It boasts over 350 video games and consoles, over 400 beauty and wellbeing products, 180 outdoor products, 500 new lines of jewellery and watches, 380 small kitchen appliances and 1,600 toys – making Argos the perfect choice for the festive period. As the UK’s number one toy retailer, Argos has also secured a number of exclusive toys this year, including the i-TeDDy, Dr Who Judoon Commander Sound FX Helmet, the Roboboa, Transformers Powerhead Desk Top PC, Baby Annabell Winter Wonderland Deluxe Set and Barbie Island Princess Greenhouse – all perfect for the must have gift this Christmas.
