Consumers save over £60m as Argos reduces over 3,000 products in new year catalogue

19 January 2007

Consumers will be benefiting from over 3,000 price cuts in Argos’ new spring/summer catalogue when it launches tomorrow, Saturday 20 January, the most price cuts offered in a new catalogue since 2004.

Saving consumers over £60m, price cuts can be found across all the ranges in the catalogue, including lighting, sports, TVs, toys, video games and white goods.

Argos managing director, Sara Weller, says that Argos is constantly striving to offer better prices for its customers: “Offering great value for our customers on such a wide range of products is what we pride ourselves on. With over 3,000 price cuts, this catalogue has had more prices slashed in it than any previous catalogue within the past three years.”

The new catalogue boasts 1,688 pages with over 17,000 products, with brand new ranges from fire pits to water features in the garden; floral and stripy tents to clarinets and violins; digital photo frames to the latest furniture styles for the home; and Blu-ray DVD players to the latest range of flat panel TVs.

Sara added: “Consumers can often find an even lower, up-to-date price than is printed in the catalogue, so we encourage them to check today’s latest prices by visiting www.argos.co.uk, texting 07786 201201 or checking in-store.”
