Argos customers 'Tick to Give' £50,000 to support hospice care

20 April 2006

In just six months Argos’ new point of purchase donation system known as ‘Tick to Give’ has raised £50,000 for Help the Hospices. These funds will support Hospice Information, a multi-media service offering advice on hospice and palliative care.

Argos customers simply tick a box on their product selection slip to add 20p to their order which goes directly to support Hospice Information.

Tick to Give is one of many initiatives which Argos has implemented as part of its two year relationship with Help the Hospices, the national charity for the hospice movement. Argos stores up and down the country are supporting hospice care through the sale of wristbands backing the England football team, as well as in store fundraising and personal challenges.

Tick to Give is being rolled out to all of Argos’ 629 UK stores but it’s the generous Scots who have given the most with Tick to Give raising a fantastic £550 in the Glasgow Stockwell Street store!

Help the Hospices corporate fundraiser, Anne Seymour, is delighted with the success of the scheme; “£50,000 is an amazing amount of money to raise in just six months and it makes a real difference. Hospice Information enables thousands of people to access information to make informed choices about the care that they or their loved one can receive. It also offers healthcare professionals access to the most up-to-date information about palliative care services, enabling them to deliver the best possible care to people with a life-threatening condition.”
