Argos and Whizz-Kidz celebrate recognition
07 October 2005
Argos is celebrating recognition for its hugely successful partnership with Whizz-Kidz. Argos was short-listed in the corporate sponsorship category of the Third Sector Excellence Awards which were held in a glittering ceremony at The Riverbank Park Plaza Hotel on Thursday October 6th.
The partnership raised over £550,000 over two years and not only had a huge impact on Whizz-Kidz financially but the creation of a special logo which was featured on carrier bags, staff uniforms and Home Delivery vehicles created an immeasurable difference in raising the charity's awareness.
Media relations manager Kathryn Thomas, who oversaw many of the partnerships initiatives, said "We're delighted to have been short-listed for these awards, the two year relationship we had with Whizz-Kidz was unlike any relationship we had ever worked on before and we're hugely proud of the success it became and the difference it made to the children they support. We hope our new relationship with Help the Hospices will be even more successful. This is the first time we have entered an award of this nature so to be short-listed is fantastic."
Argos were up against some tough competition with Tesco's relationship with the Cancer Research Race For Life coming highly commended and BT's work to support the Disasters Emergency Committee's tsunami appeal claiming the top spot.
