Triumphant Win

Argos was named Multi-Channel Retailer of the Year at the Retail Week Awards for the second successive year.

To win, Argos had to show successful use of a range of media channels to promote its brands and products, fully embracing the internet whilst linking the online strategy to the core business. The other finalists were QVC and Comet but the judges said: " The genuine leader in the multi-channel market, last year's winner successfully defended this leading edge category." The judges also commented on the profitable growth seen in all channels - stores, telephone, internet and mobile. Overall the sheer scale of the Argos operation and the fact that it is growing solidly, imaginatively and profitably impressed the judges.

Argos was also a finalist in the Retail Employer of the Year category and was commended by judges for its multi-million pound investment in people.
